Toll takes the First Step

With support from Integrity Sampling and the Reverend Tim Costello, transportation and logistics company Toll has taken the first step to help support employees with drug or alcohol issues.

A presentation involving Integrity Sampling, Tim Costello, Toll and a not-for-profit organisation called First Step was recently held at the St Kilda Town Hall. The presentation begins a partnership that will help Toll determine the best solutions to drug and alcohol issues in its workplace and the best ways to support employees with issues.

First Step is an organisation that provides an all-encompassing approach to drug and alcohol addiction. Their goal is to diagnose and treat not only the addiction but also the underlying mental health and social issues.

First Step provides specialised medical care, delivered by doctors, mental health workers, psychologists and social workers.

“First Step is committed to treating people with the respect and compassion they deserve and working with them in engaging as fulfilled members of the community,” says Tim Costello, First Step’s foundering Chairman and now Patron.

For employers, First Step is also a wonder resource. It provides a place where employers can direct staff who are affected by drug or alcohol issues. First Step understands the needs of employers and is committed to creating safe workplaces.
